Setting Boundaries is Love

Establishing healthy boundaries isn’t about shutting people out—it’s about creating space for love to flourish.

Proverbs 4:23 reminds us, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

When we set limits on our time, energy, and emotions, we protect the wellspring of love God has placed within us.

Boundaries allow us to love others with wisdom and endurance. Without them, we risk burnout, resentment, and strained relationships. Jesus Himself modeled this—He often withdrew from the crowds to pray and recharge (Luke 5:16). He knew that to pour into others, He first needed to be filled.

If you struggle with saying “no,” remember that every “no” to distractions is a “yes” to what truly matters.

Strategies for Setting Boundaries:

•Identify areas in your life where you feel drained or overwhelmed.

•Practice saying “no” without guilt when necessary.

•Set time limits on commitments, social media, and work.

•Prioritize rest and personal time with God.

•Communicate your boundaries clearly and kindly to others.
