In the busyness of life, it can be easy to let our relationship with God slip into the background, overshadowed by everyday responsibilities and distractions. But our relationship with Him is our most important connection—it’s worth nurturing, intentionally and deeply, every day. Jesus calls us to abide in Him and stay close, not just in times of need or crisis, but as a regular rhythm of our lives. When we invest in our relationship with God, we find peace, wisdom, and strength that the world can’t offer.

"Your relationship with God is worth nurturing."
This truth is powerful and transformative. It calls us to cultivate intimacy with Him as we would a garden, with patience, dedication, and care. Just as we water plants and tend to them daily, our hearts and spirits need constant refreshing from God’s Word, time in prayer, and moments of stillness in His presence.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (NIV)
Jesus reminds us here of the essential nature of our relationship with Him. When we are connected to Him, our lives are filled with purpose, meaning, and the capacity to bear good fruit. But if we neglect this relationship, we risk drifting away, trying to navigate life independently without the steady guidance and support that He provides.
How to Nurture Your Relationship with God
Make Time Daily: Whether in the quiet of the morning, during a lunch break, or before bed. Prayer and reading His Word remind us of His promises and unfailing love. Even a few minutes with God can reset our focus and renew our spirits. Prioritize Him! Make Time for Him! Not just when in need but in all seasons of life.
Stay in His Word: The Bible is our guide, comfort, and source of truth. Psalms 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” When we study scripture, we allow God to speak directly to us, guiding our steps and aligning our hearts with His will. He provides us with wisdom and clarity day by day. In his word, we find all that we need to be steadfast in Him and live life well.
Reflect and Listen: Prayer is a two-way conversation. Let’s practice listening for His still, small voice while lifting our concerns and praises to God. In the quiet moments of reflection, God often reveals insights and reassurances we may have missed. He also tells us the areas we need to let go of.
Worship Wholeheartedly: Worship is a powerful way to draw near to God. We lay aside our concerns through worship and celebrate His goodness, power, and love. Worship can transform our hearts, filling us with joy and gratitude. It gets us closer to the throne of God!
Seek community: fellowship with other believers strengthens our faith. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Community provides accountability, encouragement, and a sense of shared purpose as we walk with

Embracing a Lifetime of Connection
The beauty of a relationship with God is that it is unchanging and unwavering; He remains faithful and ready to receive us at any moment. He meets us with open arms no matter where we are on our journey.
Remember: “Come near to God, and he will come near to you.” – James 4:8 (NIV). God longs for us to draw close, know His heart, and fully experience His love. Our relationship with Him is worth nurturing and life-giving and sustaining. It’s a relationship that holds us steady through every season, filling our lives with grace, purpose, and peace that surpasses understanding.

Take time today to deepen your connection with Him—He is waiting and delights in spending time with you.
