Day 6: Love Through Obedience
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” – John 14:15

Love is more than words or feelings—it’s an action, a way of life. In John 14:15, Jesus makes it clear: our love for Him is demonstrated through obedience. Obedience is not about following rules for the sake of rules, nor is it about earning His love—He already loves us completely. Instead, obedience is our response to His love, a reflection of our trust in Him.
Obedience as an Expression of Love
In a world that often equates love with sentimentality, Jesus redefines it. Love is not just what we say; it’s what we do. Just as a child who trusts their parent follows their guidance, our obedience to God reflects our trust in His wisdom, goodness, and sovereignty.
Obedience is also a sign of intimacy. When we love God, we desire to follow His ways, not out of obligation, but because we know His commandments lead to life, peace, and joy. The more we obey, the closer we draw to Him.
What Is God Calling You to Do?
Sometimes, obedience requires us to step into the unknown. Maybe God is calling you to forgive someone, step out in faith for a new opportunity, surrender a habit, or spend more time in His Word. Whatever it is, He is not asking for perfection—He is asking for trust.
What step of obedience has God been calling you to take? Perhaps you’ve felt a nudge in your spirit, a call to let go of fear and walk in faith. Maybe it’s a small step, or maybe it feels overwhelming. But know this—when God calls you to obedience, He also provides the grace and strength to walk it out.
Trust Him Today
God’s commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). They are given for our good, to guide us into a life of freedom and purpose. When we obey, we step into alignment with His perfect will.
Take a moment today to reflect:
• What is God asking you to do?
• What fears or excuses are holding you back?
• How can you take a step of obedience today?
Love for God is not just something we feel—it’s something we live out. Trust Him, follow Him, and let your love be shown through obedience.
